About the grape
Montepulciano is a red grape from central Italy, the basis of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC. It makes deeply coloured reds with ripe tannins and black fruit. It should not be confused with the Tuscan town of Montepulciano, whose Vino Nobile is made from Sangiovese.
