About the grape
Zweigelt is Austria's most planted red grape, bred in 1922 at Klosterneuburg from a cross of St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. It makes deeply coloured reds with soft tannins and cherry aromas, and is grown mainly in Burgenland and Lower Austria.
