About the region
Provence's vineyards stretch some 200 km between the Mediterranean and the Alps. Its three main AOCs are Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence and Coteaux Varois en Provence. The Mediterranean climate is dry and sunny, with about 2,800 hours of sunshine a year and the dry mistral wind. About 91% of the vineyard is devoted to rosé, based on Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah; the rest goes to Rolle whites and to reds.
