Baden
Germany
Baden stretches about 400 km from north to south, from the Tauber Valley to Lake Constance, along the Upper Rhine beside the Black Forest. It is the only German region in EU wine-growing zone B, and the Kaiserstuhl, an extinct volcano, is the country's warmest area. Soils range from loess and limestone to granite and glacial moraine. The Pinot family covers 61% of the vineyard: Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder and Weissburgunder.
