Veneto
Italy
Veneto lies in northeastern Italy, between Lake Garda, the Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea. In the province of Verona, Valpolicella makes Corvina-based reds, including Ripasso and Amarone, the latter from grapes dried for 100 to 120 days, and Soave makes Garganega whites. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills, in Treviso, produce Prosecco Superiore DOCG from Glera, and south of Vicenza lie the Colli Berici.
