Colchagua Valley
Chile
The Colchagua Valley occupies the southern half of the Rapel Valley, in Chile's O'Higgins Region, running from the foot of the Andes to the coast. It is a warm valley; the low coastal hills let Pacific breezes meet Andean winds and cool it. The great majority of its wine is red: Cabernet Sauvignon is the most planted grape, followed by Carménère, originally from Bordeaux, and Merlot.
